In brief

What works, what to weigh

+

Strengths

3 reasons to book
  • Characterful, elegant interiors — Guests repeatedly mention high ceilings, airy rooms, and decor that captures the building's historical character, with one calling out the Royal Wedding Suite's blend of antique furniture and modern amenities.
  • Exceptional location for exploring — The B&B sits steps from a botanical garden and a park across the street, a 10-15 minute walk from Bairro Alto, and is close to transport hubs, main neighborhoods, and a picturesque market.
  • High-rated staff and service — Guests describe the staff as super helpful, friendly, and warm, noting they arranged shuttles, assisted with airport transfers, and gave great local recommendations.
–

Worth weighing

3 to weigh
  • Value rating lags other categories — While rooms and staff score well, the Value category sits at 7.7—the lowest of the listed rating categories—suggesting the price-to-experience ratio may not match the otherwise high marks.
  • Limited check-in window — Check-in is only from 14:00 to 21:00, which could be restrictive for late arrivals. Paid airport shuttle is available and staff can arrange it, but the window is tight.
  • No pets allowed — Travelers with pets will need to look elsewhere, as the property explicitly does not permit them.
